Byron Chavez wasn’t looking for San Bernardino. But when he came across the space that’s now home to Big Boss Taco y Burritos, just one block west of the BBOP Center, something clicked.
“It felt like fate,” Byron shared. And maybe it was. The previous tenants had only lasted two years, but the property owner saw something different in Byron, believed in his vision, offered terms that made sense, and everything aligned.
The Long Game Pays Off
Byron has spent over 20 years in the restaurant industry. Originally from Guatemala and raised alongside Mexican culture, he’s always loved two things: bringing people together and cooking for them. That passion became the foundation for Big Boss.
The menu isn’t built on trends or focus groups, it’s built on what Byron genuinely loves to eat and share. That authenticity is already paying off. Since opening on December 11, 2025 Big Boss has seen steady traction, growing word-of-mouth, and repeat customers walking through the door.
Why This Matters for BBOP
Beyond great food, Byron runs businesses that employ about 25 people—supporting 25 families. He leads with pride, responsibility, and a deep commitment to taking care of the people who show up for him every day.
That’s the kind of neighbor we believe in. Someone experienced, grounded, and intentional. Someone building something meant to last.
